APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING SLOSHING AND OVERFLOW OF SPENT FUEL STORAGE POOL

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sloshing and overflow prevention apparatus capable of suppressing sloshing and overflow caused by sloshing and thereby improving the reliability of an atomic power plant. PSOLUTION: A sloshing and overflow prevention apparatus 1 includes: a float 2 that is put on the surface of pool water B; a buffer 3 provided on one surface of the float 2 to face the outer wall C of a spent fuel storage pool A; a wave-suppressing plate 5 attached via an attenuator 4 to the surface of the float 2 opposite the surface on which the buffer 3 is provided; and a hook 6 having one end fixed to the float 2 and the other end engaging in the poolside of the spent fuel storage pool A. The float is not fixed to the poolside, so that the sloshing and overflow prevention apparatus 1 can be easily installed and removed. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
