PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for closing drying holes of coke oven, which surely prevents gas leakage between combustion chambers and carbonization chambers without causing falling of plug brick even in use for a long period of time.;SOLUTION: In the method for closing drying hole of coke oven with which the drying hole 4 of coke oven is closed with plug brick 6, the drying hole 4 has a control part for controlling penetration of plug brick 6 and a cavity part 51 that is formed at an intermediate position in the inside of the drying hole 4, is connected to the edge of the plug brick 6 and prevents falling of the plug brick 6 in the direction opposite to the control direction of the control part and a process S1 of coating the outer peripheral surface of the plug brick 6 with mortar 7, a process S2 of inserting the plug brick 6 coated with the mortar 7 into the drying hole 4, a process S3 of connecting the edge of the plug brick 6 to the cavity part 51 and a process S4 of packing the drying hole 4 with a thermal spray material 8 are carried out.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
