PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a corrosion acceleration test and a method for corrosion amount prediction of an organic coating steel material for civil engineering, which reveal a condition of the corrosion acceleration test reproducing a corrosion behavior of the organic coating steel material for civil engineering in a real ocean environment and which predict a distribution of a corrosion amount of a steel material from a distribution of a corrosion velocity of the steel material under an exfoliated coating layer generated along with development of exfoliation of the coating layer.;SOLUTION: A partial organic coating steel material organically coated with a steel material having a known plate thickness without applying a plating treatment is used, and is exposed to a plurality of cycles, one of which includes a salt water spraying step, a drying step, and a wetting step. After that, rust in a steel material exposing section with no organic coating applied is removed. When an average rust infiltration distance under the coating layer from an edge of the coating layer and an reduced amount of an average plate thickness of the steel material exposing section are measured, a ratio of the average rust infiltration distance under the coating layer from the edge of the coating layer to the reduced amount of the average plate thickness of the steel material exposing section is 5-80.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
