ROBUST PEDESTRIAN DETECTING METHOD ALWAYS AVAILABLE IN NIGHT AND DAY

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a recognition rate of an object such as a pedestrian by preventing image deterioration caused by an influence of a high-brightness light source such as a headlight of an oncoming car or direct sunlight. PSOLUTION: A multi-slit method is adopted, wherein a passing body of a light wavelength selective band passing system is installed in front of a camera, and image deterioration is prevented, and the recognition rate of the object such as a pedestrian is increased, and the position of the object is calculated from a vanishing point of a captured image. The recognition rate of the object is increased by determining whether a characteristic of a head part, a body part or a leg part exists or not for a pedestrian, or whether a characteristic of a signal, a traffic sign, a signboard or the like exists or not for traffic information.
