PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estimation method for stiffness of a tire based on strength of object vibration as one of vibration of a vehicle body and relative vibration between the vehicle body and a wheel, and to provide a vehicular suspension system which can execute the method.;SOLUTION: The estimation method includes: a step (S12) for generating a specific approaching/separating force f0 in a device disposed between the wheel and the vehicle body; a step (S19) for detecting the strength ΔVu of the object vibration generated by the approaching/separating force; and a step (S20) for estimating the stiffness KT of the tire by using a transfer function indicating a relation between the approaching/separating force and the strength of object vibration, based on the detected vibration strength. The transfer function has the stiffness of the tire as a coefficient, the relation between the approaching/separating force and the strength of object vibration is changed along with change in value of the coefficient, and the value of the coefficient in which the strength of object vibration when the approaching/separating force in the transfer function is set to be the specific approaching/separating force becomes the detected object vibration strength, is estimated as the stiffness of the tire.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
