PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of product-sum operations to obtain an eigenvalue at high speed.;SOLUTION: This eigenvalue calculation device has: a QR decomposition means 21 performing QR decomposition of an input matrix; a diagonal component element arithmetic means 22 obtaining residual diagonal component elements except one element in diagonal component elements of a result obtained by performing an RQ operation by a result obtained by the QR decomposition means 21; a subtraction means 23 performing subtraction of a sum of the diagonal component elements from a total D of the diagonal component elements in the preceding input matrix; a residual element arithmetic means 24 performing an operation for obtaining elements except the diagonal component elements in an RQ arithmetic result using a QR decomposition resu and a control means 25 feeding an arithmetic result of the operation by the residual element arithmetic means 24 and arithmetic results by the diagonal component element arithmetic means 22 and the subtraction means 23 back to the QR decomposition means 21 as the input matrix when a decomposition finish frequency does not reach an input QR decomposition frequency, and outputting the arithmetic results of the diagonal component element arithmetic means 22 and the subtraction means 23 as the eigenvalue when the decomposition finish frequency accords with the input QR decomposition frequency.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
