PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly decrease the computational complexity of a likelihood metric while maintaining error rate characteristics.;SOLUTION: An initialization processing circuit 1 determines the implementation order of signal point candidate selection for each transmission system and converts a channel matrix on the basis of the determined implementation order of signal point candidate selection. A transmission series candidate narrowing-down circuit 2 generates a conversion reception series on the basis of the result of the matrix conversion, narrows down conversion transmission series candidates and calculates a likelihood metric using the result of the matrix conversion and a conversion reception series, and restores the conversion series candidates to transmission series candidates by rearranging the space order thereof on the basis of the implementation order of signal point candidate selection. An estimated code bit calculation circuit 3 generates an estimated code bit for each of transmission code bits of the restored transmission series candidates using the transmission series candidates and the likelihood metric.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
