PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PON (Passive Optical Network) system in which an OLT (Optical Line Terminal) device properly executes an extension function to an ONU (Optical Network Unit) device, the ONU device, and an extension function execution method and an extension function execution program in the PON system.;SOLUTION: The PON system 10 includes the OLT device 11 which includes a discovery process execution means for executing a discovery process, a function extension communication channel forming means for forming a function extension communication channel to subordinate devices in accordance with execution of the discovery process and giving them specific function extension identifiers, respectively, and a transmission means for incorporating the function extension identifier and extension function identifier to transmit a frame for extension function to the subordinate devices as one address; and a plurality of ONU devices 12 with the extension function execution means for executing an extended function by extracting the extension function identifier when a function extension frame is transmitted from the OLT device 11 and the function extension identifier matches one of its own device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
