PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having flexibility and bendability, preventing a short circuit between transparent electrodes or corrosion in a transparent electrode, and capable of reducing the cost of manufacturing.;SOLUTION: The display device 10 includes, from the side where a light source 30 is present as a backlight, a polarizing plate 11, a film substrate 12, a transparent electrode 13, an LCMC (liquid crystal microcapsule) layer 14, a transparent electrode 15, and a polarizing plate 16, successively formed. The LCMC layer 14 has such a structure that the LCMC 14a formed by coating a liquid crystal particle with a polymer film is adhered and fixed by a nonaqueous binder and the LCMC 14a is arranged into a plurality of layers. At least one in a charge ratio of a liquid crystal agent to an encapsulating agent to form the LCMC 14a, an average particle diameter of the LCMC 14a, thickness of the LCMC layer 14, and density of the LCMC 14a in the LCMC layer 14 is determined based on the optical characteristics.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
