FLEXURAL FAILURE-PRECEDING TYPE EARTHQUAKE RESISTING WALL, AND BUILDING USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an earthquake resisting wall undergoing a preceding flexural failure, while effectively utilizing rigidity and strength, in an earthquake resistant design of a building; and to provide a building structure using the earthquake resisting wall.;SOLUTION: This flexural failure-preceding earthquake resisting wall is installed in a space which is defined by the column and beam of the building. Both side surfaces of the earthquake resisting wall and the column facing both the side surfaces are not joined to each other; and only a part of a width section of an upper end and/or a lower end is joined to the beam. In the building having a building frame comprising the beam and the column, the space defined by the column and the beam is at least partially provided with the earthquake resisting wall.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
