METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MAINTAINING IMAGE BACKGROUND BY USING MULTIPLE GAUSSIAN DISTRIBUTION MODELS

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for maintaining an image background by using multiple Gaussian distribution models. PSOLUTION: The device for maintaining an image background by using the multiple Gaussian distribution models includes a capture module, a calculation module, a storage module, and a learning module. The capture module captures an image screen containing multiple pixels, is used for obtaining background information and consecutive image screens, and obtains multiple pieces of image information. The calculation module is used for establishing a main Gaussian distribution model and multiple sub Gaussian distribution models. The storage module stores the main Gaussian distribution model and sub Gaussian distribution models that are established by the calculation module. The learning module is used for comparing two of the sub Gaussian distribution models. When it is decided that all of the corresponding image information of the sub Gaussian distribution models belong to the background information, the learning of the main Gaussian distribution model is updated by the sub Gaussian distribution models. When at least one piece of the image information corresponding to the sub Gaussian distribution models is not background information, the learning of the main Gaussian distribution model is not updated.
