PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasion diagnosis method and an abrasion diagnosis system, estimating an abrasion loss and an abrasion shape due to sediment of water turbine parts or the like of a hydraulic power plant. PSOLUTION: In this abrasion diagnosis method for water turbine parts in the hydraulic power plant, an abrasion loss caused in the water turbine parts in the hydraulic power plant by sediment contained in river water is diagnosed. The method performs: a process of creating an analysis grating of the water turbine part; a process of fetching an analysis grating of the water turbine part obtained in the above process, and sediment contained river water data including density/particle diameter and flow velocity of sediment in the hydraulic power plant, and computing the colliding flow of a sediment flow with the water turbine part according to a turbulent flow analysis program for making a solid-liquid two phase flow analysis; and a process of calculating a colliding angle, a colliding speed and a value of solid phase density of sediment from the colliding flow of the sediment flow with the water turbine part obtained in the above process according to an abrasion evaluating program, and computing an abrasion loss (an abrasion speed) per unit hour in the water turbine part.
