PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for diagnosing the attached state of an ultrasonic sensor which improve measuring stability by improving the capability of detecting a function of self-diagnosing the attached state of the ultrasonic sensor, and also an ultrasonic type level switch and an ultrasonic level gage which utilize the system and the method.;SOLUTION: An operation of self-diagnosing the attached state of the ultrasonic sensor is performed in such a manner that a received wave changeover switch SW-R is made to operate by a CPU and the ultrasonic sensor 21 and the ultrasonic sensor 22 which are provided adjacently to a tank are made to operate as a sensor for transmission and a sensor for reception. In the case that a reverberation echo in a prescribed time range cannot be detected by the ultrasonic sensor 22 after the driving of the ultrasonic sensor 21 is started, either of the two ultrasonic sensors is determined to be disengaged, and when the reverberation echo can be detected, the attached state of the two ultrasonic sensors is determined to be favorable.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
