PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize the video content service included in VOD for a user to the maximum while making the best use of the characteristics of VOD.;SOLUTION: An on-demand viewing system includes a distribution schedule generation section 38a which generates a distribution schedule describing the distribution order and distribution time of video content, a clock section 32a which acquires the current time, an access monitoring section 32 which detects access from a user terminal to a content server, a distribution content selecting section 35 which selects video content whose distribution is started or which is under distribution at an access start time on the distribution schedule with reference to the distribution schedule while assuming the current time of access as the access start time, and a content distribution section 34 which calculates the reproduction start time of the selected video content on a distribution schedule and the difference between the reproduction start time and the access start time as a virtual elapsed time, and distributes the content while shifting the reproduction start portion by the virtual elapsed time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
