A composition comprising (i) at least one fluoropolymer having a plurality of proton exchanging groups and (ii) a fluoride-containing compound, said fluoride containing compound being a metal salt, a metal complex or a proton acid, a membrane containing said composition, a method of preparing it and the use of the membrane in a fuel cell.
