The invention relates to single-phase oral contraceptives comprising a combination of 2.0 mg dienogest of the non-aldosterone antagonist type and 0.030 mg ethinyl estradiol or 2.0 mg dienogest and 0.020 mg ethinyl estradiol or 2.0 mg dienogest and 0.015 mg ethinyl estradiol or 1.5 mg dienogest and 0.015 mg ethinyl estradiol in at least (21) daily dosage units. Said oral contraceptives achieve a regulation of blood pressure - reducing elevated blood pressure and increasing depressed blood pressure - during contraception. Said oral contraceptives are particularly suitable for long-term contraceptive use without the risk of negative influence on blood pressure.
