METHOD FOR MEASURING VITAL FORCE OF PLANT ROOT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein in the conventional method for measuring vital force of a plant root, an aerobic respiration rate of root measured by using a complicated apparatus is used as a vital force of a plant root.;SOLUTION: The number of biophotons detected within a fixed time is totalized while detecting the biophotons emitted from a plant root by a photomultiplier tube and the amount of production of the biophotons of the root within a fixed time is obtained by using an index indicating the vital force of a plant root on the basis of the totalized number of the biophotons.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
