PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface material for wall surface material, handrail, floor board or the like, which can emit strong light for a long period for prevention of collision against a wall surface, a handrail or the like in a facility of people in a panic state who are left in sudden darkness within the facility due to a sudden service interruption caused by disaster, accident or the like, ensuring of balance sense thereof, ensuring of the visibility of an escape route, recognition of an escape direction, or the like.;SOLUTION: The duct part light-emitting fireproof natural wood decorative board is obtained by applying a white pigment onto a woody substrate 1 or inorganic substrate followed by drying, applying a vinyl acetate adhesive or SBR adhesive thereto followed by semi-drying, sticking a natural wood veneer 5 to the surface followed by compressing at 110°C for about 2 minutes by hot pressing, then neutralizing the surface of the natural wood veneer by applying oxalic acid to the surface and removing scum followed by drying, grinding the surface in the downgrain direction to a minimum by a wide belt sander, filling a luminous pigment in a duct part thereof, immediately spraying a coating material 6 which transmits light emitted by the luminous pigment to cover the surface, and smoothing the surface by the wide belt sander.
