PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent blade chattering without causing cost-up and increasing wear on an image carrier drive transmission gear and, at the same time, to remove foreign matter such as paper powder sticking to the leading end of the blade, thereby prolonging the blade life, in an image carrier rotation control device of an image forming device.;SOLUTION: The image forming device rotates an image carrier, such as a photoreceptor drum 11, and, at the same time, transfers a toner image formed on the image carrier onto a transfer material, such as a transfer sheet, by a transfer device 12. The image forming device then removes transfer residual toner on the image carrier by the cleaning blade 15a and stops the rotation of the image carrier after the image forming operation. In the image forming device, the image carrier rotation control device, which controls the rotation of the image carrier, has a control means, such as a microcomputer 23.
