PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resonance-type bidirectional DC-to-DC converter which suppresses generation of noises and heat by soft switching, and increases or reduces a DC voltage to a DC voltage having a different voltage value.;SOLUTION: This is a resonance-type bidirectional DC-to-DC converter wherein a smoothing inductance L is connected to the junction of series-connected MOSFETs Q1, Q2, and buffering capacitors C1, C2 are connected to both ends of the MOSFETs Q1, Q2 respectively. An auxiliary circuit H1 has a bidirectional switching circuit using MOSFETs Qr1, Qr2 and a resonating inductance Lr connected in series to the circuit for causing resonance current to flow in the buffering capacitors C1, C2. The circuit H1 is connected to both ends of the smoothing inductance L. In both voltage increase and voltage reduction operation, charge and discharge of the buffering capacitors C1, C2 are controlled by resonance current flowing in the resonating inductance Lr, and especially soft switching of the MOSFETs Q1, Q2 is realized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
