PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slope greening and protecting method which effectively prevents erosion and collapse of a surface layer of a slope immediately after execution of the method, and facilitates introduction of local plants.;SOLUTION: According to the method, two mesh sheets 8 are knitted and woven of corrosion-proof threads 5 and highly corrosive threads 7 such that narrow-width lattice-like reinforcing bands 6 are formed of the corrosion-proof threads 5 and a vegetative area A is formed of the highly corrosive threads 7 at a location between the reinforcing bands 6. Herein, the two mesh sheets 8 are knitted and woven in a manner forming a continuous pouch portions 2 in a sheet longitudinal direction, thereby to form a mat substrate 3 equipped with the pouch portions 2. Then, the mat substrates 3 are set on the slope N such that their longitudinal direction corresponds to a sloping direction of the slope N, and borrow 4 at least containing seeds is filled in the pouch portions 2 at suitable intervals.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
