PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce waveform deterioration due to crosstalk between WDM channels.;SOLUTION: An optical transmitter in an embodiment of the present invention has a phase adjusting means capable of individually adjusting phases of signal lights of a plurality of channels. In-phase crosstalk due to four-lightwave mixing of the respective channels at a reception terminal is obtained by calculation or measured, and phases of the signal lines of the respective channels are obtained so that a maximum value of in-phase crosstalk of all the channels becomes small, thereby adjusting the phases by the phase adjusting means.
