PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical value control type machine tool and an air pressure switching method for the numerical value control type machine tool in which pressurization air injected from an air seal formation means is switched to a high pressure when a cutting fluid is fed to an internal passage of a tool such as a drill.;SOLUTION: The numerical value control type machine tool 1 is provided with a cutting fluid feeding means capable of feeding the cutting fluid to the internal passage of the tool 26 mounted to a main shaft 9; and the air seal formation means for forming air seal comprising pressurization air injected from an outer periphery of an end part of the main shaft 9 in a ring-like shape. The machine tool 1 is further provided with an air pressure switching means 40 for setting the pressure of the pressurization air fed to the air seal formation means to a predetermined first pressure during non-operation of the cutting fluid feeding means and setting it to a second pressure higher than the first pressure during operation of the cutting fluid feeding means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
