PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long roll of a wide band quarter-wave plate which has the production efficiency higher than that of the conventional one and is excellent in viewing angle properties and durability and to provide a long roll of a wide band circular polarization element formed by using the long roll of the wide band quarter-wave plate.;SOLUTION: The long roll (C) of the wide band quarter-wave plate is obtained by layering a long roll (A) of a quarter-wave plate, which is obtained by stretching an unstretched laminate (a) obtained by layering a layer (II) consisting of a resin having a positive intrinsic birefringence value on both surfaces of a layer (I) consisting of a resin having a negative intrinsic birefringence value and which has a slow axis in the direction of 105°±7° or 75°±7° with respect to the width direction, on a long roll (B) of a half-wave plate, which is obtained by stretching an unstretched film (b) consisting of a transparent resin and has a slow axis in the direction of 15°±7° or -15°±7° with respect to the width direction, so that the slow axes are made to cross each other at 60°±7°. The long roll of the wide band circular polarization element is obtained by layering the long roll (C) of the wide band quarter-wave plate on at least one surface of a long roll of a polarization element.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
