PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a changed bus protocol capable of accomplishing a higher data transmission rate without increasing the number of bus lines. ;SOLUTION: This new bus protocol is used about serial transmission of data between two electronic devices (SLAVE and MASTER) through the bus connections of three lines. In a known bus protocol, each transmission of the data bit is performed by a handshake signal to make data transmission slow. In this bus protocol, each bit is transmitted without handshake. Each data word is synchronously transmitted from a transmitter to a receiver. Then, one bus line (CLK) is dedicated for a clock signal. The two other bus lines (SD and MD) are used to transmit a data signal and a control signal. Bus competition is easily solved by allocating the two residual bus lines (MD and SD) to the data signal and the control signal of both transmission directions so as to be different.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
