PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material for iron manufacture, which realizes energy saving and resource saving; a reaction accelerator; a method for manufacturing them; and an iron-manufacturing method using them. PSOLUTION: This raw material comprises a charcoal wood (10) with grain sizes of 500 m to 100 nm, and a plurality of fine particles (12 and 14) of iron oxide, which dig into the charcoal wood and have grain sizes of 100 m to 10 nm. The fine particles of iron oxide are the fine particles of hematite, magnetite or wustite, or the mixture thereof. The raw material for iron manufacture can be also used as the reaction accelerator for iron manufacture. The method for manufacturing the raw material for iron manufacture includes using a mechanical milling method, for instance, in order to make the fine particles of iron oxide dig into the charcoal wood.
