PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporation amount measurement method and a measurement instrument for a semi-volatile organic compound (SVOC), less bringing about errors due to the adsorption of the organic compound onto an inner wall surface of a chamber, being precise and highly accurate, dispensing with the heating or cleaning of the chamber, and non-destructively measuring an object under measurement.;SOLUTION: This method for measuring the evaporation amount of the semi-volatile organic compound evaporating from the object under measurement placed in the chamber comprises a process (a) and a process (b). In the process (a), an air flow in the chamber is analyzed by means of hydrodynamic simulation to determine an area where the concentration of a chemical substance evaporating from the object placed in the chamber is 100±1 to 20% in assuming instantaneous uniform diffusion concentration to be 100. In the process (b), the chamber is ventilated with the object actually placed therein to collect air in the area where the concentration is 100±1 to 20% in assuming the diffusion concentration to be 100 for measuring the contamination concentration of the organic compound.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
