PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode lamp of high output, high light emitting efficiency and long life, for conquering a disadvantage that a chip temperature is elevated easily to make the light emitting efficiency abruptly go down, since the thermal resistance between a light emitting diode and a heat sink is high. PSOLUTION: This light emitting diode lamp or light emitting diode traffic light is provide with the light emitting diode. The light emitting diode includes a light emitting diode chip 101 attached to a metal base 103. The light emitting diode chip 101 is connected electrically to an electric power source via a circuit board 106. An upper surface of the metal base is formed as a light reflecting face. A translucent medium is provided in an upper side of the light emitting diode chip. The circuit board is attached to an upper side of the metal base. A screw 204 or tapped hole integrated with the metal base is provided on an under face of the metal base, and the metal base is mechanically connected directly to the heat sink 113 through the screw or tapped hole.
