PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a normal temperature-dryable water-based undercoating material for wood, forming a coated film having excellent abrasivity and finish especially on the wood.;SOLUTION: The normal temperature-dryable water-based undercoating material for the wood contains a water-based alkyd resin as a base resin component, and has 35-75% volume concentration of whole pigment in the coating material and ≤2% content of an organic solvent having ≤250°C boiling point. The normal temperature-dryable water-based undercoating material has pH 3.0-9.0, and ≤90 μm degree of dispersion of the pigment. A method for coating finish involves coating a member with the normal temperature-dryable water-based undercoating material for the wood. The method for the coating finish comprises coating the member with the normal temperature-dryable water-based undercoating material for the wood, and further coating the coated surface with a normal temperature-dryable water-based final coating material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
