PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database construction system for relating elements to each other easily and accurately. PSOLUTION: This method comprises steps of: reading rule information from a database, setting an element name specified for each layout area when the element name is specified in association with rule information specified by an element name regularity defining means as item information for a database item for an element extracted from an electronic document for each specified layout area, creating link information relating a plurality of elements to one group, extracting elements from the electronic document according to the specified rule information, outputting the extracted element as database information in association with item information, extracting the elements from the electronic document on the basis of the created link information, relating the extracted elements, and outputting the item information in association with the item information as the database information.
