PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide castable refractories excellent in heat resistance, spalling resistance, and strength properties, capable of suppressing the permeation of molten aluminum or the like, and capable of being preferably used in melting, casting or the like of a nonferrous metal such as aluminum or the like.;SOLUTION: The castable refractories are obtained by blending a powder raw material which is composed of an aluminum fine powder having a particle size of 10 μm or larger and 100 μm or smaller, of a silica fine powder having a particle size of 1 μm or smaller and of alumina cement having a particle size of 20 μm or larger and 100 μm or smaller, a wet-suppressing agent consisting of at least one powder selected from lead oxide, barium oxide, barium sulfate, germanium oxide and an iron oxide, and at least one dispersant selected from condensed sodium phosphate, a naphthalenesulfonic acid system or a polycarboxylic acid system, to an aggregate which is composed of fused silica containing 95% or higher SiO2 and having a particle size of 20 mm or smaller, wherein the blending amount of the aggregate is 60% by weight or higher and 85% by weight or lower against the total amount of the aggregate, the powder raw material and the wet-suppressing agent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
