PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a substituted phthalocyanine compound.;SOLUTION: The substituted phthalocyanine compound is represented by formula (I) and produced by reacting a compound represented by formula (III), a compound selected from among compounds represented by formulas (IV) and (V), and a metal derivative represented by formula (VI) in a buffer solution containing an acid and an alkali metal-containing base or an alkali metal-containing organic base.
