PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate adverse effects upon an apparatus such as a cardiac pacemaker while making communicable short-wave type and long-wave type IC cards without interfering with each other in a non-contact IC card reader/writer.;SOLUTION: The non-contact IC card reader/writer for communicating with a plurality of types of non-contact IC cards having different carrier frequencies is provided with: a selection means for selecting a carrier of any one frequency from the plurality of carriers; and a communication means for communicating with the IC cards in the frequency selected by the selection means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
