PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low dispersion phosphate optical glass having a low temperature softening property, excellent weather resistance and excellent devitrification-proof stability, a preform for precise press molding which is made of the glass and a method of manufacturing the same and an optical device made of the glass having the optical properties and the excellent weather resistance and a method of manufacturing the same.;SOLUTION: The phosphate optical glass has an Abbe number (νd) of 59. The preform for precise press molding is made of the phosphate optical glass and a method of manufacturing the same are provided.
