PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive composition for volume hologram recording which shows excellent interference fringe record and a volume hologram recording medium manufactured by using such a photosensitive composition. PSOLUTION: The volume hologram recording photosensitive composition contains: (a) a compound having at least one active methylene group in one molecule or a compound having at least two active methine groups in one molecule; (b) a compound containing in one molecule two or more groups which are nucleophilicly added by a carbanion generated from an active methylene group or an active methine group; (c) a Michael-reaction catalyst; (d) a photopolymerizable compound; and (e) a photopolymerization initiator composition.
