PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve certainty of positioning of a mobile terminal while suppressing a load on a server side.;SOLUTION: A remote equipment monitoring system includes the mobile terminal 1 with a positioning function made to correspond to a specified house, and a server 4 having a function of reporting the state of an electronic key 5 of the house to the mobile terminal 1. When the electronic key 5 is in an unlocked state and the mobile terminal enters a specified position state, that is reported to the user of the mobile terminal 1. At this time, the mobile terminal 1 starts an application of its GPS receiving device to acquire a position and decides whether the electronic key is in the unlock state and the mobile terminal 1 is in the specified position state.
