PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reliable and efficient recovery of contaminants present in slightly air-and-water-permeable layer. PSOLUTION: The method comprises a step 102 of forming a steady state in a ground area 3 and eliminating water corresponding to the volume of forced air from a saturated, slightly air-and-water-permeable layer 5 by forcing high-pressure air into the layer 5 with a mechanism 17 for forcing of high-pressure air, a step 103 of transferring the eliminated water forcibly to a water-permeable layer 4, a step 104 of stopping the forcing of high-pressure air by the mechanism 17 and leaving standing for a specified time e.g. about 8-24 h and a step 105 (YES) of, after the steady state is restored, carrying out again the forcing of high-pressure air by the mechanism 17, returning to the step 103.
