PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve teaching accuracy by correcting an ordinary JOB on the basis of a master JOB prepared by an image processor from three dimensional data which consist of positions in the height direction of a plurality of teaching points on a workpiece to be machined by a laser beam and positions in the front/rear and left/right directions. SOLUTION: The positions of a plurality of teaching points on a workpiece W are detected. The positions in the height direction are detected by a height direction detector installed in a laser machining head 13. A slit beam SB is emitted which is set so as to pass through the focal position of the YAG laser beam LB; and a vision coordinate on the display screen that is displayed by picking up a reflection beam is adjusted to the focal position of the YAG laser beam LB, thereby detecting positions in the front/back and the left/right directions. The three-dimensional data consisting of positions in the front/back and left/right directions and positions in the height direction are stored in an image processor to prepare the master JOB. On the basis of the three- dimensional data of the master JOB, a corrected JOB is prepared for each workpiece automatically by the image processor.
