PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent substance emitting a highly-bright yellowish orange electroluminescent color.;SOLUTION: This fluorescent substance emitting the yellowish orange electroluminescent color is given by using zinc sulfide as a base material and has a brightness of ≥10 foot-Lamberts (ft-L), an x color coordinate of about 0. 51 to about 0.56, and a y color coordinate of about 0.42 to about 0.48. The substance preferably has the brightness of at least about 13 ft-L.
