PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce monitoring burden on a ship operator and ensure a safer ship operation by eliminating a difference between the ship operator's visual observation and a display image for facilitating identification of other ships. PSOLUTION: A visual recognition support device 1 includes: a radar device for acquiring radar information about an environment around a ship on a covered sea surface and about the situations of other ships; a plane information display 11 for displaying the radar information on a horizontal plane; a superposed image display 34 for displaying a superposed image over a visual scenery according to the radar information; a horizontally rotatable mount unit 22; a rotation angle detection means for detecting the rotation of the mount unit; a display information derivation device for acquiring plane display information from the radar information acquired by the radar device, and acquiring superposed display information by applying optical geometrical corrections to the plane display information or the radar information; and an image source device 12 for displaying images on the plane information display and the superposed image display according to the acquired plane display information and superposed display information upon the rotation of a mount detected by the rotation angle detection means.
