PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a listening position specifying method and listening position specification system, which discharges audio for measurement the volume level of which is adjusted in accordance with ambient environmental noise, without giving discomfort to a user.;SOLUTION: In an audio system 1, prior to discharging audio for measurement for specifying a listening position from speaker units SP1, SPn of a speaker array device 3, the ambient dark noise is collected and its volume level is measured by a microphone MIC 31 of a remote control apparatus 5 installed at the listening position. Based on the volume level of the dark noise, a volume level of the audio for measurement is set. The audio for measurement discharged from the two speaker units SP1, SPn is then collected by the microphone MIC 31, and based on an arrival time for the audio for measurement discharged from the two speakers SP1, SPn to be collected by the microphone MIC 31, the listening position is calculated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
