How to install program using the failover cluster systems and failover cluster system

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily upgrade a version of an OS in a failover cluster system. PSOLUTION: When a user attaches a storage medium 4 to a node 1 and instructs installation of a program, an installation program 12 requires a failover program 11 to stop heartbeat communication. The node 1 spontaneously stops heartbeat communication while the system works normally. A failover program 21 in a node 2 starts failover when stop of the heartbeat communication is detected, and inherits an operation service of the node 1. While the node 2 executes the failover, the program stored in the storage medium 4 is installed in the node 1. After installation is completed, the node 1 transmits a fail-back request to the node 2 and reopens the operation service. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
