PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector with a connection-detecting function and a cable equipped with this connector, which facilitates installation of this function in the already existing optical apparatus and equipment, and also to provide an equipment controlling mechanism using this cable.;SOLUTION: The optical connector 10 is equipped with slide pins 16a, 16b that are held so as to make them slidable in the axial direction of the connector 10, and with a proximity switch 21 that is switchable in conduction linked with the operation of the slide pins.
