PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processor of an optical disk system suitable for an optical disk reproduction process.;SOLUTION: The signal processor of the optical disk system includes a first gain variable amplification part for performing the amplification based on a first variable gain so that the level of an optical detection signal for performing the reproduction process obtained from the optical disk agrees with a first reference level. There are provided: a comparison part for comparing the level of the optical detection signal amplified by the gain variable amplification part with the first reference level; a gain adjustment part for generating a control signal for adjusting the first variable gain according to the result of the comparison and for supplying it to the first gain variable amplification part; and a gain adjustment control part for performing the control to maintain the previous value of the level of the control signal in the gain adjustment part, when the level of the amplified optical detection signal is in a level range containing the first reference level.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
