PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defective pixel detector by which defective pixels are detected with a high degree of accuracy. PSOLUTION: The defective pixel detector is composed of a threshold value setting means which sets threshold values concerning the output values of pixel signals; a pixel discriminating means which compares the set threshold value with the output value of each pixel signal corresponding to the threshold value, and discriminates pixels which output values higher or lower than the threshold value; and a defect judging means which gradually changes the threshold value, and judges pixels discriminated by the pixel discriminating means as defective pixels when the number of discriminated pixels is the specified number or less.
