PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image matching device capable of determining whether an input document is a layout document, by utilizing the function of image matching process.;SOLUTION: A feature point calculation section 11 calculates the feature points on an input document image, from input data of the input document image; a feature amount calculating section 12 calculates the feature amount of the input document image, based on the relative position between the calculated feature points; and a voting process section 13 and a similarity determination processing section 14 compare the calculated feature amount of the input document image with feature amount of a reference document image so as to determine whether the input document image is similar to the reference document image. When it is determined that the input document image is similar to the reference document image, a document determination process section 16 specifies the position of an image which is on the input document image and similar to the reference document image, based on the positions of the coordinates of the feature points on the input document image and the feature points on the reference document image which agrees with the input document image in feature amounts, and determines whether the input document image is an image of a layout document.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
