PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enzyme having a function synthesizing aromatic carboxylic acids, a gene encoding the enzyme and a vector and a transformant each containing the gene.;SOLUTION: An enzyme is producing by using Rhizobium radiobacter WU-0108 (FERM P-18961) as a new aerobic microorganism catalyzing carboxyl group-introducing reaction to carbon at 2 position of a phenol compound and an enzyme efficiently producing the aromatic carboxylic acid is found, separated and refined and a gene encoding a protein which is the enzyme is isolated and an enzyme catalyzing carbonic acid fixing reaction of an aromatic compound specifying the structure to a benzene ring is separated and a gene encoding the enzyme is isolated.
