PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authenticity judging medium which can eliminate difficulty in shortening a production time when a judging unit is formed by an emboss hologram and difficulty in changing a judging unit pattern due to many steps required for producing an emboss mold. PSOLUTION: The authenticity judging medium is constituted by laminating a thin film layer 2 composed of a material having its light transmittance or reflectance changed by heating, an orientation film 4 interposed as required and a color changing layer 3, for example, a selectively-light-reflecting layer consisting of a cholesteric liquid crystal layer on a base material 12, and in which recording is made on the thin film layer 2 by a thermal head or the like, and the hue changes of the selectively-light-reflecting layer 3 at the recorded portion and the presence/absence of reflection and a hue when a circularly polarized plate is interposed are observed, thereby resolving the above problems.
