PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resolver anomaly detection apparatus capable of appropriately determining anomalies of a resolver even in the case that an offset value changes at normal times according to the rotating speed of a rotator and provide a transmission-ratio-variable steering apparatus for vehicles using the same.;SOLUTION: A plurality of sampling values a1-a4, b1-b4 among amplitude modulation signals outputted from the resolver 3 are summated to compute an offset value Ofs. A threshold Th for determining anomalies of the resolver 3 is determined on the basis of the rotating speed V of the rotator 4. An absolute value of the threshold Th for determining anomalies increases as the rotating speed V of the rotator increases. In the case that the computed offset value Ofs exceeds the determined threshold value Th for determining anomalies, it is determined that the resolver 3 is in an anomalous state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
