PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a roof tile whose quality is maintained at the level of the quality of a conventional roof tile and which can save resources, power and energy and prevent the generation of CO2 gas. ;SOLUTION: This method for producing an unfired composite type roof tile comprises mixing slaked lime, quick lime or their mixture as a raw material with 3-60 wt.% of an alkali silicate component such as sodium silicate, 2-60 wt.% of the alkaline earth metal, alkali metal or aluminum salt such as magnesium chloride or their mixture and their metal hydroxides, 5-500 wt.% of unprocessed mined clay, and 2-60 wt.% of Portland cement and gypsum, molding the green body composition and then curing the molded article in the atmosphere at ordinary temperature for 1-4 hr.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
